My drawing was entered into the Scholastic Art & Writing Award Competition in 2016 and received a Gold Key Award. When I was 17, I upgraded to a video camera, tripod, and new editing software to film more videos. This inspired me to create more drawing videos capturing the time-consuming process of how I create my artwork. After many hours of editing the footage, I created my first Youtube video. I got inspired to create a time-lapse video to film the creation of the drawing from start to finish all on my iphone 4. This is currently my longest drawing I have made so far. I was 16 when I spent the entire summer creating a 48- hour colored pencil drawing of a sea turtle. A year later, the drawing received a Scholastic Gold Key Award and was on display in the Pennsylvania State Museum my sophomore year of High School. I was 14 when I created this colored pencil drawing out of my love for ducklings. The concentration of my portfolio focused on the values and reflections of light in different settings. I chose to draw a lily to capture the intricate details of the raindrops. I created this piece as part of my AP Portfolio the summer leading up to my senior year of High School. The drawing was later displayed in The Pennsylvania State Museum in 2016. I lived on the east coast the majority of my life, so I was inspired to create a drawing showing what the desert looked like in bloom. During the spring, I took some pictures of the cacti around my house that bloomed. This drawing was inspired when I lived in Phoenix, Arizona for 3 years. When I was 17, I created a realistic colored pencil drawing of my friend and teammate, Ashlyn. At the end of the school year, I received a perfect score (5) for my AP Portfolio. I referenced the photo for my senior AP Portfolio. When the bottles were placed in sunlight, colorful shadows and reflections were created.
